The man known as the pioneer of the "bowed piano" has died from complications of dementia. Stephen Scott was 77. Scott was a composer and long-time music professor at Colorado College.. He led the school's bowed piano ensemble. Ryan Warner spoke with Scott in 2014 about the technique as Scott was preparing to retire.
A note that Colorado College holds the license for KRCC, which is part of Colorado Public Radio.
