Over the weekend, six Republican presidential candidates were in Denver for the Western Conservative Summit. Scott Walker, Rick Santorum, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Rick Perry, and Mike Huckabee took part in the event.
Their remarks mostly focused on the economy, foreign policy, and religious freedoms, in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage. The candidates talked little about immigration and energy by comparison, and even less about climate change and water issues, according to Kristen Wyatt, who covered the summit for the Associated Press.
Wyatt is also covering Rand Paul's visit to Denver tomorrow. She reports he'll be the first major party candidate to hold a fundraiser with the marijuana industry.
Wyatt spoke with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner.
