A few months ago, Snowmass Village's biggest claim was, as its name implies, SNOW. Now, it has something more to brag about: Ice Age creatures. A construction worker at the Ziegler Reservoir just outside of Snowmass, came upon the bones of a young Columbian mammoth. In thefollowing weeks, scientists from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science found three more mammoths, four Ice Age bison, a ground sloth, and about eight mastodons. Town leaders have formed a “tusk force” to figure out ways to capitalize on the discovery. Ryan Warner speaks with Marketing Director Susan Hanley to find out what the "tusk force" plans to do.
