The charred remains of the Rotary restaurant in the Colony Square shopping area in Louisville on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, burned by the Marshall fire. The Marshall fire ignited Dec. 30, 2021, in Boulder County and destroyed nearly 1,000 homes in and around Superior and Louisville, and left thousands of people scrambling to evacuate, driven by winds that sometimes exceeded 100 mph.

The Rotary restaurant in Louisville had been open just two weeks when it was destroyed in the Marshall Fire in December. And yet co-owner Scott Boyd feels gratitude. Boyd didn't lose his home, or his business vision.
