After a divisive presidential primary between eventual nominee Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, the Democratic party formed a unity reform commission tasked, in part, with finding "improvements to insure the presidential nomination process is accessible, transparent, and inclusive."
Former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb, who announced the formation of the commission during last summer's Democratic National Convention, is one of the commission's 21 members.
The commission has met twice, in Washington, D.C. and San Antonio, and is scheduled to meet in Chicago in August and Las Vegas in October. It must produce a report for the Democratic National Committee by January 1, 2018.
