This weekend marks the return of a beloved train, and a traffic-free way to get to the ski slopes.
The Winter Park Express will once again provide passenger rail service from Denver's Union Station to the base of Winter Park. It's a joint effort between Amtrak, Union Pacific and Winter Park resort. The first train of the season leaves Denver Saturday at 7 a.m.
Many remember the old ski Train to Winter Park which folded in 2009. There were a few previous attempts to revive the service but those didn't work out due to financial and insurance concerns.
